ACADEMIC.FAIL is a platform dedicated to fostering a community of intellectual honesty and growth within the academic sphere. We recognize that setbacks, challenging discoveries, and unexpected turns are intrinsic to the pursuit of knowledge. Our blog and events are built on the understanding that confronting these moments – the ‘gafs’, the ‘bloopers’ – is a critical step towards deeper understanding and sustained success.

We invite you to share your insights in the spirit of goodwill and reciprocity. Submit an entry by chatting with Golden Poopie our mascot and chatbot. With Golden Poopie you'll have the opportunity to explain a significant challenge you’ve encountered in your research or scholarly work – not just the outcome, but the process of navigating it. We’re particularly interested in accounts that illuminate the strategies, reflections, and ultimately, the lessons learned.

Data Handling: All submitted material – including research data, methodologies, and narratives – must be fully de-identified, anonymised, and/or redacted to protect individuals and institutions.

Specific Requirements:

• Fictitious Identities: Replace all identifiable organizational names and individual names with entirely fabricated alternatives.
• Avoid Resemblance: Ensure fabricated names do not closely resemble real entities to prevent potential disrepute.
• Consent (If Applicable): If personal data is unavoidable (e.g., anonymized quotes), obtain explicit consent where feasible.

Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in rejection of submissions.
